Training during Summer

The weekly Tuesday and Thursday 6.00am bunch continues to meet and ride throughout the warmer months and usually experiences a larger number of riders coming along for the ride. The ride Departs from the Lake Albert Main Rd Shop, near the football oval.  see here

For weekend fun a training ride on Saturday leaves from the back of the Kidsons Shop at 6.30am for the Coffee Shop Dash (About 65km). You will be back by 8.30am. The warmer weather tends to bring out a lot of riders and as many as 55 riders have turned up for the normally two hour ride. The average turn out would be around 45 riders and is a particularly enjoyable gathering. If you like to go fast on a bike then you might like the last few kilometers back into town. see here

Sunday will normally see a training ride leave McDonald's on Edwards St at 6.30am. Its a good idea to Ride Saturday to find out what's happening on the Sunday.

The Juniors normally put the Road Bikes away during summer and race on the Track. Track training is on Monday Nights from 4.30pm under the supervision of Bob Robertson.

Training during Winter

During the WINTER  months you can find a group of crazy cold bike riders of all ages, shapes and sizes leaving the Lake Albert Main Rd Shop, near the football oval at 6.00am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Most mornings there are between 6 to 20 riders. Duration 1 to 1.5 hours. The Training groups speed is around 30km/hr   see here for more details.

Helpful hint don’t be late on any of the days as they leave right on the dot of 6.00 am and 5.30am and it can be a long chase.

Training session are held for Juniors at the Kincaid St Track from 4.30pm on Mondays and Wednesday evenings under lights. The training is conducted under the supervision of Bob Robertson, the club Coach. Riders of all ages and abilities are welcome but the majority are Junior riders just chaffing at the bit to flog the pants of an adult riding a bike.

A training ride on Saturday leaves from the back of the Kidsons Shop at 6.30am.  The most popular ride is the Harefield loop that’s around 65 km. Numbers can vary depending on what racing is on during winter. After the ride its usually back to a coffee shop for a brew and a gossip, all are welcome. see here for more details.
